Oh No....It's Snow!

When we are in the final days leading up to Christmas.....a wintery mix of snow and ice is not what I wanted to see when I woke up this morning!! I had planned to run all of my last minute errands in effort to avoid the malls this weekend.....but mother nature got in the way.....All those plans went out the window as today was declared a snow day!

Trying to make the best of our day indoors, we decided to bake!! Even though the roads are terrible, I did manage to make it to the nearest grocery store early this morning so that we could get started!

FUN! Our snow day has not been nearly as productive. I too had planned to run errands on a 1/2 day off today, but we made it a full day after I looked out the window. Just came in after 5 minutes of sledding:)

Ohh...I so had hope...but alas...we are just rainy and messy here...and expected to attend school!!! Boo-hoo!!!

It looks like you made the most of your time...I am very jealous of the time spent in your cozy kitchen with your sweet assistant to say the least....looks like a day well spent indeed!!

A great way to spend a snowy day inside!

Do you want to hear that it was 68 degrees today and so stuffy inside that I had to run the a/c?

We made just one loaf of pumpkin bread today... then I fell on the floor in an exhausted heap, begging for mercy... with flour practically up my nose.

(Not really. The Tongginator is actually a good cook.)

Glad y'all managed to have fun despite the weather.

I figured you all would get hit with some snow! My parents were going to fly to a Christmas party in NJ yesterday, but my dad's boss canceled it due to the storm. Oh well!

Baking sounds awesome on a snow day!

Oh no! The same thing happened here the other night (Jas was here with the kiddos while they were snoozing so I was going to take advantage of some solo store time!) I was out the door, down the drive, on the mail street and had to turn around and come home because the roads were too bad. So, looks like I might have to sneak out tomorrow...and, I'm already dreading it!
Although...the baking list sounds super yummy! You made the best of being homebound!
xo, Les

I love Giada (I see your cookbook). One question though: How can she be so thin?!?! If I ate what she cooked/baked you would have to roll me out the door.
Anyway, I'm glad you had fun in the kitchen with Sarah. We got a foot of snow too here, but I shovelled and wrapped, shovelled and wrapped.....

Can't wait for the recipes. Love the pictures of your little helper!
