Happy New Year!!

January 5, 2010

Baby It's cold outside 4 wm
Out with old..... In with the COLD!!! I don't know much, but the new year has certainly brought winter in full force! It is absolutely freezing outside!!

Hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Our holidays were very nice and seemed like they were over in the blink of an eye.

I had every intention of posting after Christmas, but decided it was probably best to take an extended break. I only took about a dozen photos between Christmas Eve and New Years. I left my camera in the bag and enjoyed my time with my family. It actually felt kind of good...... no camera, no FB, no blogging.....for two weeks. I know I worried a few people. Thanks for checking in on me. It is always nice to be missed:)

We spent Christmas here at our home with my side of the family and then we headed north to Cape Cod after Chrismtas and spent New Year's with Pat's side of the family. As I said, it was a whirlwind, but I am so happy that we got to see everyone. The kids had a fantastic time with their cousins. Nick got to spend his entire holiday break with Eddie and Sarah got to hang with the girls on the Cape:) It is just ashame that we don't get to see the extended family more often. I wish we all lived closer.

So here we are..... 2010. What will this year bring???

I am not sure, but I hope that this will be a GREAT year for our family and yours.

2009 was not an easy year for us by any stretch of the imagination, so this year has to be better!!

I am not big on resolutions, because they are so hard to keep, but I do like to try to set some personal and career goals each year.

One of my biggest goals is to find balance in my life. Like many of you, I find life is a constant juggling act and it is getting harder and harder each day to keep all the balls up in the air. Mother, Wife, Daughter, Friend, Coworker.....they are all important roles and not the kind of balls that you want to drop, but I need to get better about prioritizing.

Our family could be in for some really BIG changes this year....and I need to prepare myself. I say that with baited breath, because I feel like I have been saying it for 4 years, but I think I can say it will a little more confidence this year. In all likelihood, we will be getting a referral from China sometime in 2010. We are 39 log in days away from referral. Time will tell.......

I will be by soon to catch up with you all. Hope your year is off to a great start!!

Happy New Year! I agree, can't believe how fast the end of the year always seems to go - and now here we are 2010 - and just when you get life "figured out" - and a routine and a schedule and kids potty trained and behaving & doing their school work and all that good stuff - THEN, that's when God laughs at you and throws your little China girl into the mix :)

So glad you had a great christmas...it was a busy one here too so I completely understand! I love the two pictures...they are so crisp and clear. What lens are you using? And I like the decorations on the first one, is that scrapbooking stuff??
Have a great New Year...can't wait to see what is in store for you ;)

I'm wishing you the BEST new year ever, my friend. And I'm confident it will be. This IS your year - and I can't wait to see your family growing and to share a little in the joy that will be yours. I've got goosebumps just thinkihng about it!

I'm glad your holidays sound like you all enjoyed yourselves. They always go to fast. Road trips north at this time of year are unpredictable. I'm happy you arrived home safe.

Let me know if you find an answer to all those balls in the air. I don't have as many as you and I keep dropping them.

Welcome back!
Hugs,
W

Hi Lisa,

Glad you got time to enjoy family. I know how seriously busy you are and it's always nice to just be an observer and enjoy conversation with those you love.

Wow, look at Sarah! She's always changing and getting prettier each post. Yep, I think it's time she becomes a big "sister"...wow, I'll be waiting to become a new "Auntie" too. I'm getting excited now:))

Glad to see things are back to some normalcy for you, always look forward to your posts.

Well, it's late and I'm watching too much crazy stuff on TV so hope to chat with you this week. I really miss you!

Happy New Year, may 2010 be amazing and the year you finally hold your China baby in your arms!

Happy New Year Lisa! Your break sounded perfect. It is so hard to juggle everything. Sometimes I think I'm crazy that I can't do it all so it's nice to know I'm not the only one struggling from time to time. :) I'm so excited you're getting so close to referral, so unbelievably exciting!!! What a wonderful and blessed year you have in store for you. :) Take care and have a great rest of the week.
Lucy
P.S. We got a Mac, spent our break transferring 7,000 photos (yikes!) and debating between the Adobe CS4 or Apature software...
