Grape Vines BLOG
Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.
~Edith Sitwell~

I am counting the days until Spring, but it seems as though we have quite a bit of winter to get through first. We got hit with yet another snow storm this week. They were calling for approximately 4 inches on Wednesday and when we woke up Thursday morning we looked out the window to find over a foot of snow. We measured 14 inches in our driveway.

Schools were closed again and Pat and I were forced to juggle the kids and our work schedules. I had to sneak away to our local office for a meeting and even though I am getting annoyed with old man winter, I have to admit his effects were very beautiful!

I took these pictures as I drove to my meeting yesterday....never even had to leave the comforts of my warm car. Just pulled over and rolled down the window. Our development is situated between two local vineyards, so when you drive around out here you see rows and rows of grapevines. I thought they looked so pretty in the snow.

To all my friends in the Northeast.....Be safe and stay warm.
I hear that more snow is headed our way.

~Have a wonderful weekend~

Just a little update for all those who have contacted me over the last few weeks to say that they are interested in the upcoming photography classes and workshops. I will be sending out a mass email and putting up a blog post sometime during the first week of February with all the details and sign up information. Unfortunately, it took me a little longer than I anticipated to get everything together, but I am just about finished and I am VERY EXCITED.

Hi....Winter is a very pretty season, I agree...but I'm so over it too Lisa!!
Weather here is quite mild, Thank Goodness. I'm glad I haven't had to worry about driving to work but I will soon be joining the ranks of a working mum :-(
Hope everyone is doing well...G is still not walking...we havent encouraged her to until after our holiday...that would have been a nightmare her toddling around the pool!!!

Glad you didn't have to leave your car to take these. I've put on my snow boots too many times this winter to snap a few images. I'd love to see your vineyards one day!

Beautiful shots!!!!. I don't miss the mess of snow (or the cold) but I do miss the beauty and how it can force you to slow down and stay home as a family:)

And I love the shots below too...spunky is a GREAT way to be:)

What gorgeous photos Lisa! Boggles my mind when I look at them and see all that snow. I love the last one....the vineyard looks so barren this time of year.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend...stay warm!

These pictures just draws you in and get your imagination to working. You have such an amazing gift for photography! That first picture is postcard worthy! It just draws you in. I just stared at it for quite a few mins! I love the stacked snow on the stairs, the pack of snow beneath the brush of trees and the perfectly covered roof of the little house/barn in the backdrop. God is so amazing! There is such beauty in every season. The quotes are just perfect!

I would love to see pictures of this same scenery in the springtime!!

What lovely and peaceful landscapes. I think what I do like about Winter is how quiet it is outside in the snow...

Have a wonderful weekend, hopefully staying indoors and relaxing with your family!

Gorgeous images Lisa. Wow....a real winter wonderland. It looks like no one lives anywhere near there for miles. Just pure beauty and peace.

We live not even a mile from country road and lots of farms. But some newer homes have gone up around there and the little country roads I used to ride my bike on now have speeding cars on them. Everytime I try to catch a shot out the window someone is nearly taking my life away. I need to find a new spot.

Stay warm and happy week-end!!

Breathtaking!!! You guys have been walloped with snow lately.

My dad has a new job that takes him up to Pennsylvania almost every week. He was up there when the storm hit last week. Luckily he was still able to fly home on Thursday.

Hope you are having a good weekend!

Hi Lisa,
Have been having problems with my email so when you have time to get to the workshops, etc., please mention on your blog so I know when to make sure I can get my email up. Thanks! Also, wondering how to do the foam set-up for taller subjects? Thank you!
