Sunday Snapshot - "Glorious Light"

Brendan Against the Black Iron Fence BLOG
The only thing I like better than picking up a new client is receiving an email from someone I worked with in the past.

Arms crossed on the wooden bench Tara BLOG2
I met this beautiful little girl a few years back when I was just getting into photography. I was doing some portfolio building at the time and took some photos of her free of charge. Tara has such a striking look.....the hair, the eyes, the freckles....WOW!

When Tara's Mom reached out to me, she said she was looking to have a very casual brother/sister photoshoot and since both of the kids are nature loving, she really wanted to do it in a a park with a lot of natural surroundings.

They live about an hour from me, so after doing a little investigating and with the help of another fellow photographer friend, we settled on a gorgeous garden that is open to the public from dawn to dusk.

There were at least three wedding ceremonies taking place while we were there, so we had to maneuver around the multiple wedding parties, but there were plenty of hidden areas.

No matter where we were in that garden, there were two things that were always present......

The glorious sunlight that shined through in just about every photo....

and the incredibly sweet and loving bond between a big brother and his little sister!!!

Between the Branches Arm Around Tara BLOG
It was definitely a winning combination that made my job super easy!!
All I had to do was sit back and snap away.

Thank you Sandy, Brendan, and Tara!!
I had a wonderful evening with the three of you and look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Camera: Canon 5d Markiii
Lens: Canon 85mm f1.2
The settings for the top photo were:
f 2.2
SS 1/125th
ISO 200

The top photo was composed as you see it and shot in the spot meter mode.
It was a shady area with the sun peaking in from the right, which is why there is a little shadowing on the left side of Brendan's handsome face:) I personally like the shadowing here and think it adds some drama to the photo.

I processed this photo using some curves and sharpening, along with Florabella's soft center fill light and her all in one action from the Retouch and Makeover set. Even though the light was incredible on it's own, I did enhance it a tad in PS.

Make sure you pop over to Stef's blog to see more Sunday Snapshots. I am the sponsor this month, so whoever wins, will receive a free seat in my Push Past Your Comfort Zone class that begins July 8th. I love Sunday Snapshots, so even though I am playing along this week, my photos will not be judged or part of the contest.

These are so beautiful Lisa! I have such a soft spot for capturing siblings. The bond between them is so incredible. (Just like that one in the previous post of your girls together- there is a spark between them that can't be duplicated)

I agree with Marla, you've a client for life!I just wish you lived closer to me :(
Love all of these photos, but I think the ones where the 2 of them are together have the edge, you can feel that synergy between those 2.
Aren't they both so beautiful, hair, eyes, expressions, all lovely.
