Factory Brick Wall Graffiti Nick Full Length BLOG
Nick just returned from a week long trip to the beach with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousin Eddie.

Cement wall in front of Factory Nick BLOG
He had a wonderful time and we are so grateful that they always invite Nick along.....

Chainlink Fence Sidewalk Nick BLOG
but we sure did miss him a lot last week!

Factory Railing Nick BLOG
When he walked in the door Saturday afternoon, he got quite the warm welcome.

Factory Steps Looking Up Nick BLOG
Apparently, I was not the only one missing him last week.

One Way Nick2 BLOG
There were two little girls that could not wait to wrap their loving arms around him.

Nick Framed By the Garage Door BLOG
He caught us up on all that happened at the beach and shared many funny stories along with the list of wonderful foods he had to eat.

Graffiti wall Nick BLOG
What can I say, he is a chip off the old block and he loves food.

Graffiti Wall Bokeh Nick BLOG
I promised him some one on one time Sunday, so we ran out to do a few errands and have some lunch, just the two of us. I love to be able to do that with him and thought it was time to talk some more about the upcoming school year which is rapidly approaching.

Eyelashes Nick BLOG
If you remember my post earlier this summer, I was concerned that he was unhappy with his choice to go to the public high school. Pat and I have really tried to stay on top of that this summer and have worked it into the conversation many times. So once again, I took advantage of my time with him yesterday and made it a topic of discussion. I am certain that he is confident and happy with his choice to attend the public high school. He is looking forward to all of the new opportunities he will have, and while keeping up with his old friends, he is also looking forward to making some new friends too.

We will continue to keep tabs on the situation after the school year begins and we have already told him that it is never to late to change your mind. I think he fully understands and knows he can come to us if he is not happy and wants to make a change...... but I truly think he will do just fine and shine like he always does.

I can hardly believe I am sending him off to high school in a few weeks.
It just does not seem possible that he is that old. I think of him as my little boy, but then I glance up at him or look at these photos and see that my boy has turned into a very handsome young man.

Camera: Canon 5d Markiii
Lens: 70-200mm f2.8 with IS
The settings for the top photo were:
Focal Length: 70mm
f 3.2
SS 1/500th
ISO 100

This location was a gem and was totally inspired by a building I saw in Philly this week while I was working(you can see it in my instagram feed). Obviously, this is not the kind of place I would take the girls, but it certainly worked for Nick. Lots of cool texture all around that added to the feel of the photos.

I used two different lenses for this set, my 70-200 and my 35mm. All photos were shot in the spot meter mode and were processed using Florabella's Classic Color(tweaked)with a touch of Rosy Cream and Rich Autumn. I also added a slight texture to this series as well.

A very handsome young man! Lisa, that 2nd to last shot really struck me - you captured the young man he is becoming as well as a hint of the "little boy" still in him. A truly spectacular photo!

Wishing Nick all the best as he starts high school!

Nick is such a good sport to participate in your photo shoots. The only pics I can get my camera shy guys to do are sport shots. They should take some lessons from Nick! Such a pro and so handsome!

Oh Lisa, he is a stunner! you're going to have to get a big tennis racquet to fight off the girls once he starts high school!
As long as he knows that he can come talk to you, Nick will be fine. It's kind of exciting that he can keep his old friends and make new ones, and I'm sure he will do that.
Lovely location, you always pick great backdrops...or it's probably how you photograph them.
Have a good week!

These photos are gorgeous and I love the new look of your blog. It is so clean and fresh.

I think you are so wise for checking in with Nick about high school. These transitions are hard. Will is SO excited about high school but Harry is very reluctant about middle school. It is good to be able to talk to them about it all.

I recognized the location immediately when I saw it. Remembered you posting it on IG. It really is perfect for a teen boy. So glad that he had a great visit & that he is now home. I can only imagine how much he was missed for that week.

Thanks for the update on his school situation. I was wondering how it was going & how his feelings were evolving as it was getting closer to start date. I'm happy he's looking forward to it.
