Heaven Sent

Angels in the Kitchen COLLAGE BLOG
It has been a very quiet weekend around here....
Everyone is feeling under the weather, so we sort of hunkered down and stayed in the last few days.
Reags and Nick were sick earlier in the week, and Sarah, Pat, and I came down with it by Friday night.
Thank heavens it is not the flu, just some upper respiratory thing. Enough to make all of us feel miserable.
Luckily it is a 3 day weekend for the kids, so they get an extra day to rest up.

I am headed back to work today, but before I head out, wanted to share these photos.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen and read the story about Reags and her new addiction with doing dishes.
Usually she does them shirtless, but yesterday they had been playing dress up with the "angel wings" that Mimi bought them for Christmas. So I pulled out the camera.

The afternoon light was incredible coming in through the window and when I turned to the side and saw their reflection in the glass cabinet, my heart skipped a beat. These images were begging to be converted to Black and White and once converted, the contrast of light in the frame took my breath away. They truly look like angels sent from above...... now if only their behavior reflected that all the time :)

~Have a wonderful week friends~

Sorry you've been sick Lisa, me too, really bad flu, so off work.
These are gorgeous! Especially the last one, I wondered how you got the reflection. The innocence n their faces, and concentration! Couldn't we learn mindfulness from them?!!

Hey Lisa,
Hope you are back to yourself! Everyone has been so sick lately! Your babies are so cute and definately heaven sent? You said you were back to work today. Do you work outside of the photography biz? I ask because I work too - a non photography job - I think I follow so many great photographers that stay home/work in the "biz". I feel lonely out there sometimes. :) I have been following you for only a month or two (since right before our last conversation) so forgive me for not being fully up to speed. Have a great day!

Anonymous,

Yes, I have a full time job that keeps me on the road 4-5 days a week. If I am lucky, I get one home office day a week.......the others I am traveling across three states on any given day. It can be stressful and I have my moments of feeling alone when I see so many photogs out there being able to do and accomplish so much. I have all of these fabulous ideas, and just no time to execute. It leaves me feeling like I don't add up because this is not my full time business.

So glad to hear I am not alone!!

You are busy! I can see why you feel the way you do. I always wonder too how so many people seem to be able to dedicate so much time to shooting, blogging, and being so successful when sometimes I am just trying to keep up with my family, work, and running a home. I have great ideas too - without as much follow through as I'd like either. Other times I sit down thinking I have a little time and feel like I want to do so much and then I don't know where to start. There is also so much to learn...no time and then I don't retain everything like I would like to while others seem to get it all so easily. From what I know of you though, your hearts in the right place and I love your blog, photos. Keep up the great work! I'll be thinking of you while I'm at work this a.m. Let me know if you ever travel to Northeast Wisconsin. It would be nice to have lunch or dinner and chat about our hearts desires. Enjoy your day.

So lovely Lisa. Those two are always together. It wouldn't surprise me if ten years from now the pictures are quite the same... the two side by side. They are meant for one another!
