The Pouty Princess

October 28, 2009

From Up Above WM
We did a test run of Sarah's costume this weekend......and although she started out so excited to be surrounded by tulle, glitter, and even a little makeup.......the smile didn't last too long.......

The Pouty Princess WM
My pouty little princess

Sitting Pretty WM
Ummmm......can you tell she is not happy?

And would you like to know why?

The wings.....

She doesn't like her beautiful princess fairy wings!!

The very wings that she would not let the sales person put in the bag because she insisted on wearing them through the mall and out to the car.

Obviously, between the night we bought the costume and this weekend, she changed her mind.

I refuse to start over with a new costume, so we decieded to make some minor adjustments to this one.

With one quick trip to T@rget, I think we are all set!! We reworked the accessories.....and I hope that the pouty princess will not show up on Halloween night!!

The last two years, the way the weekends fell, Nick has spent Halloween with his Dad, but this year he will be with us!! So really, this is the first year that he and Sarah will be together for Halloween. I remember posting pics last year of Sarah trick or treating, but I didn't have any of Nick. I am happy to say that will not be the case this year:)

Man I just love her pout. L changed her mind several times. Gene used to sucker my mom into getting him a second costume each yr because he would suddenly not like the one he picked out with me. I hope all goes well and can't wait to see pics of the 2 together!

I love her pout, too!

She will be an adorable princess.

We have gone through similar - Lily picked out a chicken costume in Old Navy, insisted on wearing it through the store, but by the time we got to checkout she was done with it! She has been Cinderella for Zoo Boo and dance class (we had the costume) and with lots of convincing will be Princess Leah for Halloween (to go with her brothers' Darth Vader and DArth Maul).

Hope she gets into her costume without incident on Saturday!

Just darling Lisa.....we are trying our trial run with the boys today and tomorrow with Fia because her costume is quite something! lol

I think she is the cutest pink fairy ever! ;)

That costume is absolutely adorable! I especially love the polkadot tights! I bet your pouty princess will change her attitude when a little (or alot) of candy is involved this weekend! I am so glad Nick gets to join you this year. You will have a blast!

Well, pouty or not, she's stinking adorable!!! Hope Saturday goes well, we're still gathering up costumes around here, can you say procrastinate?!?!

Lisa,
Sarah is SUCH a pretty girl. Not like I'm noticing this for the first time but I love these shots of her. She IS a princess...pouty or not! I too have been waiting for Mags to change her mind on her Halloween costume but I don't think she knows it's an option this year. Next year I'm sure there will be more drama. :)

Pouty or not, Princess Sarah is such a BEAUTY! That first image of her surrounded in tulle just took my breath away!

Kids are so fickle, aren't they? I think they learn that in kid school just to drive their parents crazy and keep us on our toes.

Sounds like you have it covered...not that I ever thought you wouldn't!

Can't wait to see Nick in costume too!

Oh, I am glad that Nick will get to celebrate with you & Sarah (& Pat too!) i LOVE Sarah's costume and really, her pouty look isn't too bad either (: She always looks adorable though! I LOVE the polka dot tights!!!

Pouty or not, her pictures are stunning! I just love the angle on the first one with all that beautiful pink. And the last shot with that bold Autumn yellow in the background is just a feast for the eyes. Your little princess is a doll and I have one too that can be a little fickle and stubborn. Mine usually gets her way and everyone stays happy.

I'm looking forward to more of your Halloween shots.

Wouldn't you just love to get into their heads? (well....maybe not!)

Pouty or not, Sarah is adorable especially all dolled up in tulle and pixie dust!

Have a fun Halloween with both kiddies.

Well I think your miss Sarah's pout is adorable...LOVE the first shot of her. She is looking a little more mature to me now in pictures. What a beauty. Love how the light comes through the wings.

That's so great that Nick and Sarah can go together this year!

And what a beautiful pouty princess she is...I love her eyes in the first one...you are doing a wonderful job on your pictures. Your kids sure will treasure them one day for sure. I am just happy this year that it is on a weekend so the kids can actually enjoy it.
You had asked me on your comment on my blog how many sessions a week I do? I am right now doing 1-2 per weekend. I like you work full time and feel that is plenty right now!! I am hoping eventually to be able to stay home a little more with the girls and hoping this is my foot in the door to do it financially. It is so much fun to boot!! I have a little break now and am trying to learn the flash from Debbie...so it is a whole other agenda now. It has already snowed here some, so I need to get the studio flash down to continue to shoot. Have a great Halloween with BOTH your kids.
Love,
Steph

Very cute : ) I'm sure she will be happier on Halloween...and if not, well tell her to leave her wings at home...heck I park my wings all the time : )

Sarah makes the sweetest little princess! Even with the pout. We have had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction too! Brooke is Tinkerbell and she is also not lovin the wings. I'm hoping we will make it around without a fuss. I hope you and the kiddos have a fun and safe Halloween!

Well, even with the pouts, Sarah makes the cutest fairy princess! Love the photo where you are looking straight down at her!

Even though she is a pouty princess, she is still adorable!

Hopefully Halloween night will bring out a few smiles.

You know now that you got something to make the costume work without the wings, she'll want them again on Saturday:)
Amelia HAD to be Belle and after dance last night wants nothing to do with it because she was the only one with a long dress on. I said she can be anything in her dress-up drawer...who knows what she will end up wearing. I've decided I am letting go on this one:)

Wings or not, your daughter is simply adorable! You take stunning photos!

The Pouty, Precious & Pretty Princess!

Don't you just love how kids love something one minute, but change their minds only after you buy it? I have a certain little 8-year old around this house that is a pro at that. (sigh). I can't wait to see pics of your two trick-or-treating!

Sue said...

Love all the pink, polka dots and the pout!

How fun that kids will trick or treat together this year.

Have a great post-Halloween week!
