Black and White Wednesday - "Digging Through the Archives"

March 24, 2010

the long road

I am traveling this week and currently in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have been out of the bloggy loop since last week, but did not want to miss out on Black and White Wednesday. I have been in meetings the last few days, but plan to get my camera out tomorrow so I can capture some of the serious beauty that is surrounding me.

Before I left home, I didn't have much time to play with my camera and take any new photos, so I went digging through the archives to see what I could come up with......

Friends quote

This picture was taken last summer when I met up with a sweet friend and fellow blogger to help her with her camera while our girls played. I don't know how, but this one slipped through the cracks. There is something so sweet and innocent about it that has always made me smile.

In addition, I have always loved this saying.......and it seemed so fitting given that they are walking side by side, holding hands.

Okay.....I have to run. The three hour time difference is really throwing me off. I should be back in the swing of things this weekend when I return home.

Hope you all have a wonderful week:)

I love the train tracks and the balloons. What a fun combo! The balloons really stand out with the dense textures in the background. Very striking! And how sweet that they're holding hands (I have to bribe mine to do that!).

I had fun creating my black and white photos this week. Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. B&W Wednesday is something I've really come to look forward to each week!

What a beautiful capture and the saying makes it perfect. Can you just see them looking at this picture 20 years from now? What a great moment!

Beautiful! I just spent the weekend with my best friend and this picture reminds me so much of our 38 year friendship.

Hope your trip is a productive one and you're home with your babies and hubby soon!

If these are the photos on the cutting room floor at your place then you'd better not look at my archives!

So beautiful in so many ways. I love how Sarah is looking down carefully taking her steps knowing her friend is there by her side to catch her if she falls.

The balloons smack of all the joy, fun and possibilities ahead of these little angels in their lives.

I know you are enjoying your trip and I look forward to seeing the beauty you've described through your lens very soon.

Have fun and hone your skill of enjoying the Art of RELAXING!

Great job Lisa! I love how the two beautiful subjects seem to pop out of the photo. And the tracks are curving just perfectly.

Hope you're having a great time, even if it is a business trip! :)

Oh, I LOVE this image!! Not only are Ella and Sarah adorable walking hand-in-hand, but the bend in the tracks going around the corner could not be more perfect. Such a great capture, Lisa!!

I hope you are having fun in AZ! Your hotel looks fabulous. I hope you get a lot of camera time and some spa time, too. ;)

Fabulous composition, Lisa. The winding train track drew me in, the two outside feet lifted to draw those two friends forward, the balloons floating, the hands holding... it could be a postcard.
I don't know if it's just me, but the track also stirs a sense of danger in me- could a train suddenly come round the corner? I KNOW you wouldn't be taking photos if you could hear a train, but for me, it sharpens my focus.

Good luck with the rest of your week, look forward to your return.

There's just something about walking along a railroad track together that makes you friends for life ... add balloons to the mix, and, well, it's just perfection.

Hope you're enjoying the sun and warmth of Arizona! (hope they're having sun and warmth—our friends who live there insist that the weather is ALWAYS perfect!)
