Black and White Wednesday - "Daddy's Girls"

June 15, 2011

Daddy and His Girls Collage

I got back from Las Vegas last Friday night and all was well in my world again!

The girls were screaming at the top of their lungs the second they heard the front door open and they must have said "MOMMY" 100 times. I got five days worth of hugs and kisses within the first five minutes of my arrival.

Pat was happy to see me too....and even after five days with the kids by himself, he was as calm, cool, and collected as could be. Upon entering the house I thought for sure I would find a home in need of cleaning and a mountain of laundry waiting for me, but that was not the case. In addition to holding down the fort, he kept it clean too!! I guess I need not worry if I have to leave on business........ apparantly I am married to SUPERDAD:)

Golfers In The Making BLOG
Even though Pat seemed to take the single parenting thing in stride, I knew he was probably going to be in desparate need of some downtime. He had made arrangements to play golf with my Dad on Saturday, so I took the girls to the park and for ice cream and then we met up with the guys when the reached the "18th" hole!

The Rules of the Game Collage
Pat's eyes lit up when he saw all his girls making their way to the green(So did my Dad's....Coachie as the girls call him) He even tried to "explain" the rules of the game. I think he has big dreams of taking them out there with him when they get just a little older:)

Flying Reagan Collage
As worried as I was about Reagan, I think it was good for her and Pat to get a little Daddy/Daughter bonding in while I was gone. He got to put her to bed each night and get her up each morning and do everything in between.......and she did not miss a beat!

Giggling Girls in the Golf Cart BLOG
Sarah has always been a Daddy's girl.......and now she might have to move over.....it looks like she has a little company:)

Nick was with his Dad this past weekend, but came home on Monday!
I missed him too and was disappointed I did not get to spend any quality time with him this weekend like I did with the girls. He is finishing the final few days of school and to make up for it, I have a special treat planned for him Thursday after I am finished with work.

I am taking him and a few of his friends to drive race cars at THIS VERY COOL PLACE to celebrate the end of the school year. He has been talking about it for weeks and can't wait. He is getting older and has been keeping his own social calendar these days......which is why you rarely see him around these parts, but I guess that is to be expected when dealing with a teenager. He is allowing me to bring my camera to the race track...... that is something "cool enough" to be photographed according to him.

Hope everyone's summer is off to a great start!
I wanted to mention that my photography classes have came to end(temporarily)just before I left for Las Vegas and I am FINALLY going to get back to blogging again. It has been months since I have made my way around to visit everyone and I feel awful about that. I also hope to post a little more frequently about things that are going on around here and also a few things that have been in my heart and on my mind. I have dropped the ball in that department as well.......but it is time to pick it up again.

Have a fantastic Wednesday!

What a welcome!!!! That made the pain of leaving almost disappear, I'll bet. Nothing like the shrieks of joy from your girlies. (And wow....I think you may need to clone Pat - share him a little Lisa.)

I'm glad things are slowing to a somewhat regular pace for you now. Have yourself some fun. But same some for July......;)

hugs,

That last one is a "framer" I think it needs to go right over Pat's desk...
Glad the trip wasn't too hard on dad and the girls. The next one won't be nearly as hard:)

Precious pics of the girls with their sweet daddy! I love the golf cart pics. These would be great Father's Day gifts. Glad Pat did well while you were away. I know there is no place like home, though! :)

Awesome day golfing with the girls. Such a blessing to capture these. I'm sure you've said before, but what frame program are you using to combine the photos into the shadowed story boards? It always looks so good.

Oh my! Lots of cuteness here! I can't believe how "solid" Reagan is getting? Which is a good thing at her age :-) she has filled out so much - love looks good on her!

Love these Lisa! I bet you were so overjoyed to be home after being away for a week. So happy Pat managed so well and the girls bonded with their daddy.

Hi Lisa! These are great! I am so glad that all is well, now that you are home. And, kudos to your hubby for doing such a stellar job while you are away!

I just linked up and I noticed that the photo I chose as my thumbnail is not appearing. I am #44, and my thumbnail is appearing as a cartoon frog. Hmmm. Can we fix that somehow? Thanks!

Lacie said...

It appears to be fixed! Thanks!

I am glad your husband took the single dad thing in stride. My husband would keep the kids clean and fed, but I'd say I'd have a messy house when I got home.

Lisa, these pic's are adorable! I know you are so happy to be back home with your beautiful family! I also know you have been super busy and I cannot thank you enough for all your support and guidance with my photo's and my blog. I still can't believe I've entered the "blogger" world:) Your talent for teaching photography, along with all your continued support and encouragement, truly gave me the confidence I needed to prove to myself that I could actually "do this". You are "one-of-a-kind" my friend. I look forward to the day we can visit with each other and bring our Chenzhou Sisters back together!

Hi Lisa! I just found your blog and boy is it filled with gorgeous photos!

I'm participating in your B&W Wednesday for the first time and I'm having problems uploading my image. I'm #36 (the frog!). It had a problem originally and now it won't let me add the photo or delete my link and try again. Could you please help me?!

Beautiful pictures - I just hope I won't be crying at every post if you're planning on blogging more often - I just get so emotional, and your pictures are so nice, it looks too good to be true. So reading about your homecoming is enough to get the tears flowing (it probably does not help to think about my 2yr old daughter going off to the beach with my mother in a couple of days -sigh)
