Sunday Snapshot - "Teacher"

September 16, 2012

lashes and glasses BLOG
She spent the entire week as a student, but yesterday she transformed herself into a teacher.

Scribble Scribble BLOG
We had a little fun shooting a "Back to School" session and this was a role that Miss Sarah was happy to play.

Apple in the palm of her hands BLOG
Even though apples are probably her least favorite fruit, she agreed that every teacher needed an apple, or two, or three:)

Coutning her apples BLOG
I had planned to bring the apples, globe, and the glasses...

Writing a note for the teacher BLOG
but she insisted that a teacher needed a notepad and a freshly sharpened number 2 pencil, so the prop list grew.

Globe and Glasses BLOG
I have to admit, the notepad and pencil worked really well and she looked very teacher like. I love how she sits with her legs crossed so prim and proper. I don't ask her to sit that way, that is just how she sits most comfortably with those long lean legs of hers.

balancing act apple BLOG
After the novelty of the note pad and pencil wore off, we tried a few other things like balancing an apple on her head.
We lost a few apples in the process, and this is about as close to balancing as we could get!!

Then she begged me to let her act silly for the camera. I agreed and this is what I got as her best silly face.....

mom u r making me crazy BLOG
Oh my heavens! Have you ever seen anything so funny?
Pat and I could not stop laughing when we saw this photo of her!!
I am sure there are many teachers out there that feel the way she looks in this photo after a long day of school.

And that is how the shoot ended, because there was no bringing them back after this.....it was a true free for all at this point:) I only posted the photos of Sarah today and I will do a second post this week to share our other teacher, "Miss Reagan".
Hope you all have a fabulous Sunday!

I am off to "2 Hip Chics LLC"..... we are officially opening the doors to the boutique this morning and we are very excited!!!

Will post photos and an update soon....and if you are local, you might want to swing by and see the shop!

Camera: Canon 5d Markiii
Lens: 50mm f1.2
The settings for the top photo were:
f 2.0
SS 1/500
ISO 100

I recently drove by an old victorian home that totally inspired me. It appears that a new business is moving in and they are renovating the building as I have seen construction crews there during the week, so I waited until the weekend and took the girls over so we could use the steps and the porch as a backdrop for this photo shoot. I am in love with the old brick and something tells me that it won't be that way for long..... I believe they are getting ready to paint it:(

This series was processed with Matte Film and a touch of Alabaster and Antique Pink from the new Florabella Colorplay Action Set. I then added just a touch of texture to them as well.

beautiful Lisa. When Amelia was in Kindergarten I couldn't get her to tell me about school, but if we played school she would be the teacher and I would learn a lot about her day and what her teacher did/said. I loved it:) Now she comes home from school and I get a play by play - which is nice too:)

Oh, to have an ounce of your talent and eye for how to create the perfect photo. Each is exceptional. Sarah is gorgeous and you capture her spirit perfectly.

Love everything about this photo shoot Lisa!!! Sarah totally rocked the part of "teacher" and I love her last frame...believe me, as a former teacher there were MANY days I felt just like she looked :) The setting, the outfit, textures, composition and of course your subject are all perfection! BTW...I checked out the swanky baby vintage and your photos should be featured on their site! They blow the others out of the park...perhaps you should get some samples of their upcoming clothing line and submit photos for some commercial work :)) Always beautiful and inspiring. Happy Sunday! Hope your day at the boutique is lots of fun. xoxo amy

Gorgeous ... I use to play this game as a child and grew up to become one ... love teaching and inspiring the next generation. Maybe a sign of her future peeking through the veil of time :) Delightful shots.

Precious pictures!!! My oldest daughter always does this after the start of a school year. I figure it is a sign that she has a very good teacher. It is so funny to watch her, because she always models exactly what she has seen in class.
However, as a former teacher, it leaves me a little horrified, wondering what my former students modeled about me! :) Hopefully, only the good!
And the last picture - beautifully sums up how a teacher feel at the end of a long day!!!

That last shot just CRACKED me up! Oh, how beautiful that little "teacher" is...she is growing so tall but ever gorgeous.

We did a fun back to school session last week when my Kindergartener had 1/2 day...I am praying I can get it up on the blog before September passes me by. Life is going by at the speed of light it seems!

Love the outfit, the location and of course...the LITTLE LADY!
