Queen of The Castle

It totally amazes me that the boys have included Sarah in all of their fun this week.......you could say she has been queen of the castle!

Yesterday was the hide and go seek, today they included her in their fort building.

To anyone who knows me, if you saw my family room right now, you would think that there was something wrong with me. It looks as though a bomb hit it, but the kids are having the time of their lives. I can clean this weekend, so for this week......they could make a mess and have thier fun.

The first night Eddie stayed with us, they decided that they were not going to sleep in the bunk beds in Nick's room, they were going to sleep in our family room.

We have a sectional, that has a pullout double mattress and they thought it would be cool to stay down there, so we set up the first night.....I honestly thought they would hate it and come up the next night.....they loved it so much that they didn't even want me to push it back during the day. They have slept there each and every night and today I let them keep it out all day. They made a fort with blankets and pillows and played in there for most of the day......Sarah got the biggest kick out of it and she was climbing right along with them.

Tonight after getting ready for bed, they were all laying in "The Fort" It is our last night with Eddie and I had to capture the moment......they are the two sweetest boys anyone could ever imagine.

Eddie is an only child and Nick was an only child for 9 years, until Sarah came along.....for many years they only had each other.....for as long as I can remember the two of them said they wished they were brothers....it always broke my heart because we lived so far apart and they didn't get to see each other as often as they would like.

It has been so wonderful to watch the two boys take care of little Sarah this week....Eddie has really taken to her.....this morning I noticed when we woke up she went downstairs and crawled into his lap to watch Sesame Street.....he put his little arm around her and they cuddled as they watched tv and played......it almost brought tears to my eyes to watch the two of them together.

We are sad to see him leave.....we have all had such a good week, but he will be coming back in August for another week.....Yeah! It makes saying goodbye a little easier knowing that we will see him again real soon!

I agree with Jodee, the boys were so sweet to let Sarah play, too. They seem like very sweet little boys. You must be so proud!

Thank you for the link~ I was able to get to the recipe just find. Have you made your beets this way? I like the idea of roasting them more than boiling them!!! keep your fingers crossed~

What a busy, fun week! I hope you think cleaning up is a joy too!

Thanks for visiting our blog... You're the first to mention our "NASCAR" theme for the countdown. We're watching the race right now.... We're up for going to a race if you are - I haven't had my "fix" in a long while.

I know how much I look up to my older brothers and think every little girl should have a big brother. Sarah is very lucky!
