Memorial Day- A Tribute

May 26, 2008

My cousin Anthony is serving in the Marines. He is stationed on a ship that is somewhere off the coast of Thailand. I admire so much what he does for our country, so this one is for you Anthony! This picture was taken almost two years ago to the day at his graduation from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. This is a picture of Pat and I with my cousin Eddie and Anthony the Marine!

Weekend festsivities kicked off with a visit from cousin Vicki. She and my Aunt Barbara and Uncle Tony are now in Sicily. They are visitng the very town that our family is from! How exciting.....they are on the trip of a lifetime! I hope they have a fabulous time.....eat lots of great food!

Here is my sister, Kristi with her newest son, Ashton, my Mom, my son Nick, and Aunt Barbara! Getting ready for a big Italian Meal!

Nick holding his cousin, Aidan and his sister! As you can see they are in the toy corner.....you have to hide the toys somewhere!

I am proud to say that the deck is finished.....it took 16 weeks and a deadbeat contractor, but we were able to pull it together......furniture and all! First official deck party.....4th of July......if you are in the area.....stop by.....the more the merrier!

Our new outdoor living space! I spent 30 minutes out there this morning drinking my coffee and reading a book while Sarah slept.....It was heaven! I hope to trade in this pale and pasty skin for skin that looks sun kissed!

Here is Sarah in her crib.......she is dressed for a Memorial Day Picnic at the neighbors!

I know that I cut off half of her head, but this picture looked so angelic to me, I had to include it!
Hoping you all had a spectacular holiday weekend!

Check back soon!

Ohhhhh... Sicily... I loved that place... went up Etna (well, half way, it was fogged in)... stayed in an apartment in Catania... went to Syracuse, Taoromina... I adored Italian... went to the graves of my husband's mum's family... http://flissandmikeadventures.blogspot.com/2006/02/italia.html
and if you go to the labels on the side of http://snappyadventures.blogspot.com/ you will find Italy... Mike can't really cook.. just a little - at least he tried and set the table... I am but a spoilt princess... take care... ciao

Hi again,

We actually didn't use La Vida...although I've heard great things about them...and of course with my BLog name, that would have been perfect...I do LOVE a theme!!

We have a friend in our playgroup that used La Vida and love them to pieces! We actually have a very active, informal CHina adoption group. It started when a few of us used the same agency and discovered we lived very near one another. We have added families as we go and I think we are up to 12 or so. How far away are you??

You can e-mail me at
64coyote@verizon.net if you would like!!

Have a great evening!!

I'm drooling over that deck - but more so over the fact that you can sit out on your deck in PEACE (I have neighbors who you'd easily learn how to use a firearm for...lol). So when I sit out on my deck with my coffee, I get to hear screaming children playing in their yard, in their pj's, at 7:30am. Not kidding. And yes, at 8:30 at night too - it's all day long! AARRGGHH! lol...

Your new deck is gorgeous! It looks like the perfect place to relax with your morning coffee (or an evening glass of wine!).
