"Fingerprints"

May 11, 2012

Gypsy Rose Collage 1
Sarah came home from school yesterday with a special surprise that she could not wait to pull out of her backpack and hand to me.

Fingerprints
"My dirty little fingerprints I've left on every wall
And on the drawers and tabletops, I have really marked them all.
But here are some that won't rub off, I'm giving them to you
Because I am thankful to have a Mom that's just like you!"

Hand On Hip Gypsy Rose BLOG
Sarah's piece of art totally made my day and when I clean my house, I don't think I will ever look at fingerprints quite the same way.

Hope you all have a Happy Mother's Day!

PS. If you are trying to figure out what she wrote on the project it was to say "2012"
I think we need to have her practice her 2s :)

Someone once told me that one day I will miss the fingerprints, and while I am a little OCD when it comes to the house I am 100% I will miss the fingerprints.

I love all those special cards...and fingerprints and face imprints on windows are a sure sign you're in a happy home:)
It's also very normal for 2's and S's to be backward - I worried about that with Amelia, but she got them turned around.
Love Sarah's gorgeous outfit...those colors really pop!

So precious!! Those are the things that really make motherhood so wonderful. I always tell my kids that the thing I love the most is the hugs & snuggles & the the words that always bring me to well up are "I love you mom". Gets me every time- seriously! This happens so many times a day- you would think that I could get past it- but it grabs me every time. It's so special.

Love her outfit- btw. It's because of you that I have been trying to buy more dresses & skirts for my girls. Being a SoCal native- I automatically gravitate towards shorts & t's. But photos just look so much cuter when they are dressed "girly".

Hugs my friend! I hope your Mother's Day is a blessed one.

Love this! ~ The shot on the train tracks is priceless, and such a sweet gift!

BTW, you're music is the only one that I've found that I actually don't mind playing in the background. :-)

What a sweet card and saying. It immediately reminded me of visiting my aunt years ago. She was carefully washing around the little fingerprints left behind on the refrigerator and sliding glass doors. Her toddler granddaughter, who lived far away, had been to visit a couple months earlier. At the time I just kind of thought it a bit odd, but now as a grandmother, I so totally understand.

Awww, so beautiful!
Now that my kids are past doing those kind of gifts, I do actually miss them (they don't know but I've stored them in a "memories" box under the bed, and I rummage through every so often for my nostalgia fix!).
I was sure the 2012 was "sols" and that it was an abbreviation I had missed somewhere...mine are always using abbreviations like "soz" for sorry etc. Bet you that by next year the 2 will look like 2 and you'll be nostalgic for the S!
Happy Mothers' Day Lisa, you're one in a million!
