The Toddler's Creed

If I want it,
IT'S MINE!

If I give it to you and change my mind later,
IT'S MINE!

If I can take it away from you,
IT'S MINE!

If it's mine it will never belong to anybody else,
No matter what.
If we are building something together,
All the pieces are mine!

If it looks just like mine,
IT'S MINE!

If it breaks or needs putting away,
IT'S YOURS!

by Dr. Burton L. White

Do these rules sound familiar to any of you?

This seems to be the new mantra that we are desparately trying to break!!

Sarah's expression in this picture speaks volumes! We had just confiscated her squirt gun....obviously she was not happy about it.....Life With A Toddler....it's not always easy!

At this moment in time, Sarah's expression looks very much like my niece M&M. They are very close in age and - it seems - in stages of development. :)

Ah yes...the toddler's creed. They used to give this out every fall aat Lia's school....so hoping I don't get a copy now that she is in the pre-school room!!!
(because that would mean she is out of that stage, right???)

Classic photo of Sarah....she will have fun looking back and laughing at it one day...you all will....probably just not TODAY!!!

Keep the faith, sista....keep the faith...

You got that right Lisa!!!! So true. As you know- hang in there. (Although I have heard that the teenage and tween stages are strikingly similar).

My 16 month old is just now saying that things are "Mad deee's". Anytime her sister touches anything the baby wants it and wants it NOW!
UGG- at least we can commiserate.
