We are officially in training....potty training that is....

I just wanted to thank everyone that gave us ADVICE a couple of weeks ago...you all had some terrific ideas and we will be using them. Quite a few of us are reaching this milestone at approximately the same time, so I will keep everyone updated as to what is working for Sarah and what is not...

I am trying to stay optimistic here....she is ready...I have been procrastinating.....it is a big commitment and we will need to stay close to home for the first few days....there has been so much going on that I just held off until the time was right. I have been watching my calendar for a good time to start and things are pretty quiet here for the next couple of days...so as they say....there is no time like the present.

As of tomorrow morning, we are going cold turkey....

The little potty is in place. Our special treat jar is filled with M&M's, the dresser drawer is piled high with the cutest little girl undies, and I am stocked with all neccessary cleaning supplies.....

Wish us luck......the diapers are coming off.... We hope :)

Lisa ~ You know that if you sing some ridiculous pee pee song (and so many of us do it, but most don't admit to it), then I want video. I need a laugh this week. ;) Best of luck!

Oh, I can't wait to hear how it goes! We are a few months behind you I think. Not quite ready but starting to be interested in it. I will be pumping you for good tips! (M&Ms would be a good start for me!)

Lisa,

Good Luck!! Tonggu Momma is right about the pee pee song. Just ask Kate, I sing a funny one. Copied it off some goofy parents from a Super Nanny episode.

Keep us posted!

Woo Hoo...go Miss Sarah!!! You have fans rooting for you in TN. I hope you get to feel like such a big, beautiful Princess wearing your pretty undies and eating your M & M's.

Good luck, mommy : )

I don't think I left you advice and this worked SOOO well for us I HAVE to share. It actually came from a business guy in his late 50's who was teaching the power of positive thinking. Rather than say, "Don't wet your pants" Say, "Keep your pants dry." or ask, "Are you keeping your pants dry?"
Power of suggestion! When I ask Amelia even now if she needs to go potty she say, "No, I'm keeping me dry."

Good luck to you! Briana hates the potty right now. Literally keeps saying ouch when she is sitting on it. Sigh. I think we need a boot camp soon too.

Oh, good luck (to both of you)! You will both do well; I am sure of it.:)

And just remember...if there are any frustrating days...She won't go to college in a pull-up.;)

God Bless,

Potty training is the one thing I just don't care for as a Mom. Lucky for me, my girls learned it very quickly with M&Ms. :) Like mommy they love the chocloate! It just the baby hands in the never-can-be-clean-enough-bathroom.
Your daughter is beautiful!

Look forward to reading about how it goes! It has been a while since I potty-trained our 3 boys....... :-)

I think we used sweet tarts!

Cindi said...

OK, surely we DIDN'T use sweet tarts for 2 year olds! After I sent that comment through my brain reflected on that for a sec.

It has been too long. :-)
