Right In My Backyard.....

Imagine my surprise, when I realized one of my favorite bloggers is right in my backyard!

OK, not really in my backyard, but we live very close to one another!

Today, Shelly and I got to meet for a fabulous....(cough, cough)....4 HOUR LUNCH!

Do you think we had a lot to talk about?

Shelly found me shortly after I started blogging last Spring and then we realized we lived in the same state and began to email back and forth. We always said we wanted to meet up, but the summer just got away from us!

With the excitement of their recent referral......we knew we needed to get together to celebrate....besides, Shelly will not have time for 4 hour lunches, as she will not only be tending to her beautiful daughter Francesca, but also to her new darling baby girl, Annabelle! They are due to travel in the next 2 to 4 weeks!! I can't wait to follow their journey!

We had such an incredible afternoon, good food, great conversation(lots of conversation).....and a fantastic drink.....OK, we had to break all the rules and have one celebratory drink. We each savored a delicious Cosmo!

I am thrilled to have formed this new friendship.......in fact, we have already scheduled another lunch next week and hope that we can get the girls together for a playdate soon!

I think this is what is considered a "Red Thread Connection"....Isn't it amazing the people that we meet through our blogs.....never could I have imagined I would meet and make such wonderful friends!

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.
~ An Ancient Chinese Belief ~

Shelly, I had such a great afternoon.....if we wouldn't have looked at our watches, I have no doubt that we would still be sitting their talking and laughing!

Isn't it great to meet a blogging friend in person! I have also met so many wonderful friends through our adoption. It is amazing. When we were waiting for Katie I would e-mail with my travel group. They were from all over the USA. I would call them my "imaginary friends". I was so happy when I met my imaginary friends in China. We were all hugging and laughing over the breakfast buffet in Beijing.

Sounds like you two had a ball.

Looking forward to meeting you on Saturday!

Sounds like fun! So glad you got to meet! If I had known, I could have let Shelly know all about you and...well...your lack of man-ness. I'm just saying...she might have slept a little better last night!! :-)

You are sweet...and Shelly seems just as sweet!!

Lisa- you are so right the Red Thread connects us all! The adoption community is unlike any other. An amazing amount of love compassion and support! We are so fortunate to have this beautiful connection.

Wow- a good friend, a four hour lunch, and a couple of cosmos! I would say that you had a good day.

I am so jealous. There, I said it! Shelly was my secret pal right after we were LID and I was terrible at this whole China, waiting, whatever stuff. She was such a blessing to me (and is)!! I will wait until 2009. Sigh.

How fun is that! I bet that 4 hours felt like 30 minutes.

I wanted to thank you for offering to help me with Flickr. I do think I am going to enjoy it.

You are PRECIOUS!!

Hi! I just found your blog(through someone else's blog). I am adding you to my bloglines now. Blog friends are the best! I never would have thought I could meet such wonderful people on the internet. Ever. I have had the pleasure of meeting several of the people whose blogs I follow and I truly do feel like we have a special connection.

How fun. Its so nice to have blogger friends who live nearby. I have one too. Isn't it funny when you talk to people who don't have blogs, they just don't get the whole blogging thing :)

It is so much fun to see our bloggy friends in real life. I have had the pleasure of meeting a couple of mine, and the moment I laid eyes on them, I felt as if I had known them since the third grade.;)

I'm glad you two had so much fun!

God Bless,
Amy:)
